Austin, TX – Oct. 24, 2024 – The Insurance Council of Texas (ICT) is excited to announce that Jon Schnautz has joined the team as Legal and Legislative Advocacy Counsel, effective immediately. In this new position, Jon will provide critical support to ICT’s legislative lobbying services, regulatory representation, and legal counsel to support ICT’s mission to serve the Texas property and casualty insurance industry.

Jon brings over 20 years of experience in legislative and legal matters, specifically property and casualty insurance. He has been a licensed attorney for over 15 years. He holds a law degree from the University of Texas Law School, where he graduated with High Honors, as well as an undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin. Before joining ICT, Jon served as Vice President of State Affairs for the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC). Jon’s legislative experience includes serving in key policy and advisory roles in the Texas House Speaker’s Office, serving as Chief of Staff for Rep.
